Ten individuals convicted of cyber-bullying directed at Brigitte Macron

A French judicial body has found guilty ten people for engaging in the digital intimidation of Brigitte Macron, the spouse of French President, Emmanuel Macron.
The those on trial faced charges of disseminating untruths regarding her sex and sexual orientation, in addition to publishing hurtful comments about the pair's significant age difference.
The court handed down suspended jail terms of as much as eight months to the perpetrators. The full ruling has still to be made public.
A circulating conspiracy theory suggesting that Brigitte Macron is a person assigned male at birth has existed since her husband's initial election in 2017.
This recent ruling in France is concurrent with the Macrons pursuing a libel case in the United States against right-wing influencer Candace Owens, who has repeatedly shared comparable unfounded claims about the Brigitte Macron's identity.
Their complaint contends that Owens disregarded substantial counter-evidence contradicting her allegations choosing instead to platforming known conspiracy theorists.
Owens has frequently reiterated these assertions on her digital program and social networks, and in March 2024 proclaimed that she would bet her whole career on her conviction that Mrs. Macron is biologically male.
Brigitte Macron originally became acquainted with her future husband when she taught at his high school.
The pair married in 2007, when the future French president was 29 and she was approximately 54 years old.
