Iran is prepared to reinitiate atomic discussions with the United States provided that it is treated with "dignity" and "honor", Tehran's foreign minister has announced.

Abbas Araghchi stated solely negotiations produced results, and revealed new appeals had originated from intermediaries to resume talks with the Trump administration. He claimed Iran had zero undeclared nuclear sites, and Tehran was not yet able to authorize the global atomic watchdog to visit attacked atomic facilities for protective measures.

Navigating a Challenging Path

The foreign minister is walking a complex route since Iran wishes not to be perceived to be operating from a situation of vulnerability, and he emphatically stated that Iran had arisen stronger militarily and psychologically from the coordinated strike on its enrichment centers in June.

He was talking at a security conference in Tehran where he restated that Iran had "an absolute privilege to process nuclear material within its borders that it will perpetually retain" – the main reason of the deadlock in the earlier negotiations.

Previous Discussions Suddenly Concluded

The previous five rounds of talks between the US and Iran were brought to an abrupt and bitter termination on 12 June when the Israeli government, with American backing, targeted Iranian nuclear sites in a fortnight-long engagement that concluded with the US president claiming the locations had been eliminated. Subsequently, Western states used their authority to reinstate global restrictions, but Iran maintains they have not had a major impact.

Magic Solution Proposed

Iranian officials claimed they felt they had achieved a "ideal resolution" to the enrichment issue in prior discussions, when it was agreed an domestic cooperative with US participation could enrich uranium. Each party would have been able to declare success since domestic enrichment would have continued and the US could be assured that Iran's enrichment initiative was entirely non-military.

It had not been decided in the talks that American atomic experts could operate within Iranian territory, but that was a logical implication of the cooperative offer. Diplomats stated repeatedly they had reached agreement with Washington's diplomat the American negotiator only for the arrangement to disintegrate due to "detractors in America".

Current Status

Tehran representatives declared the consortium offer was now withdrawn, but it seems highly likely the suggestion could be revived in certain ways if discussions resume.

The American leader recently stated he had been obtaining communications that Iran desired to resume discussions, but in private Tehran representatives claim they are not yet receiving consistent overtures from America either explicitly or from significant local go-betweens, such as the Qatari government, Egypt, Oman and Saudi Arabia. The Iranian foreign ministry has been criticized of inactivity in the face of Trump's direct instinctive approach, but Tehran asserts dialogue is not part of a performance.

Negotiating Position

In his address to the conference, intended to depict the US as a hegemonic power that misuses the concept of worldwide standards, Araghchi said the fortnight-long engagement demonstrated the conflict could not be ended by military means. He asserted the strikes began with a Washington's ultimatum for an unconditional Iranian surrender and concluded with an unconditional call for a truce.

Iran is convinced the opening assaults from Tel Aviv were mounted with complete American awareness and cooperation, making faith difficult to restore.

Diplomacy Stays the Final Solution

The foreign minister stated: "It was not Iran that had fled dialogue; it was America and the western countries that had always tried to enforce their demands during the negotiations. Diplomacy can still be alive and continues the primary solution to address disagreements, but its standards, rules and principles must be adhered to."

"In case they address to the Iranian people with the approach of dignity and honor, they will receive a reply in the equivalent tone."

Repair and Recovery

In what is characterized by Iranian officials as the conflict of recovery and recovery, the foreign minister stated he was confident Iran's military capacities "are much stronger than prior to 13 or 14 June of this year. All our capabilities have been reestablished. We gained many lessons from this engagement; we have discovered our own weaknesses and the vulnerabilities of the adversary."
